If you can suffer, you can succeed
— Faren Z. Sojourner

Faren Z. Sojourner was born and raised on the East Rand of Johannesburg, South Africa. At the age of 23, she immigrated to Canada as a temporary worker in mental healthcare, where she lived for nine years before becoming a dual citizen. After dedicating five intensive years to personal healing, and the growth of her Christian faith, she began her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) at Yorkville University. Upon graduating, she travelled to South America to begin a ministry project with her husband, best friend, and co-worker, Benjamin.

Faren started reading her mother’s psychology textbooks “for fun” as early as age 12. Her mother, a counsellor and teacher, inspired her to always “ask why”, leading her to think critically about life, meaning, and truth. As the youngest of five siblings and with over a decade of experience working with children and families, Faren’s love for people, the family unit, and children is deeply rooted.

Faren’s work is grounded in realism, sound-mindedness, and heart-to-heart reasoning. Her unique story, bicultural background, and unrelenting belief in healing form the cornerstone of her approach, naturally inspiring and challenging others.
